Indian T20 League 2022: Points Table after Chennai vs Kolkata

The opening match of the Indian T20 League took place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The match turned out to be anticlimactic to all the hype it received before the start.
Chennai was invited to bat first after Shreyas Iyer won the toss. Chennai never got going during their innings. None of the batters looked the part except MS Dhoni. MSD scored 50 off 38 deliveries and took the Chennai total to a respectable 131 runs. But the total was way short of the par score on the pitch. Kolkata chased down the target very easily. Rahane top-scored for Kolkata with 44 runs. Shreyas stayed at the crease and guided Kolkata to a 6 wickets victory with 9 deliveries still to spare.
