Indian T20 League 2022: Qualifier 2- Top memes from Rajasthan vs Bangalore match

The Qualifier 2 of the Indian T20 League 2022 took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad between Rajasthan and Bangalore. The match turned to be a rather tame affair given a place at the final of the tournament was up for grabs.

Rajasthan won the toss and Sanju Samson elected to field first. Bangalore did not have a great start to their innings as Virat Kohli (7 of 8) failed to impress once again. After this Rajat Patidar and Faf du Plessis stitched together a partnership of 70 runs and steadied the ship. However, du Plessis was struggling to get going through out the innings. He was ultimately dismissed in the 11th over of the innings after he scored 25 runs off 27 balls. Patidar however continued with his antics from the previous match but he kept running out of partners. Patidar scored 58 runs off 42 balls hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes before being dismissed in the 16th over of the innings. Besides Patidar only Glenn Maxwell ( 24 off 13) contributed in the middle order while others failed to trouble the scorers. Bangalore ultimately managed a total of 157 for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs.

The chase was set up in the very first over by Yashasvi Jaiswal as he slammed Mohammed Siraj for 16 runs. After this Rajasthan just went with the flow and made the target look smaller than it actually was. The opening partnership worked 61 runs in 5.1 overs before Jaiswal (21 off 13) was dismissed. Sanju Samson joined an already in aggressive mode Jos Buttler and got their team sailing towards the target. They also put together a substantial partnership of 52 runs in just 38 balls before Samson (23 off 21) was dismissed in the 12th over. But for Bangalore it looked like the dismissal came a bit too late. However, one more wicket fell for Rajasthan, but Jos Buttler stayed there till the end scoring his fourth century of the season. He stayed not out on 106 off 60 balls as Rajasthan won the match by 7 wickets with 1.5 overs remaining in the match. Rajasthan thus qualified for the finals a second time in the history of the tournament after the inaugural season in 2008. Bangalore’ s wait extends one more year to lay hands on the ever-elusive trophy.
