Indian T20 League 2022: Star batter leaves the Chennai bio-bubble
Devon Conway, who is a part of the Chennai-based franchise in the Indian T20 league 2022, just left the team bio-bubble for his wedding in South Africa. The South Africa-born New Zealand batter will be unavailable for selection for the next week, as he is set to rejoin the team on April 24th. Conway will have to undergo another quarantine for three days after joining his side once again.
In the meanwhile, Conway threw a pitch for his Chennai colleagues on Tuesday. Several Indian and international players, as well as support staff members, were dressed in traditional Indian attire to congratulate Conway on his upcoming marriage to fiancee Kim Watson. MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Shivam Dube, Moeen Ali, coach Stephen Fleming, and many others were present.

The 30-year-old has only appeared in one game for the team. He was their first-choice starter, but he failed to capitalise on the opportunity given to him. In the season opener against Kolkata, he scored three runs in eight balls. He was then dropped out of the playing XI, and Robin Uthappa was promoted in the batting order to open the innings with Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Chennai have played six games in the season so far, but have only managed to win one of them. They are currently positioned in ninth place in the points table. The defending champions were expected to have a good campaign this season, but they haven’t been able to live up to the expectations. The men in yellow will have to win almost every match from here on to stand a chance to qualify for the next stage of the tournament.
