Indian T20 League 2022: Top 10 memes from the Bangalore vs Kolkata match

The Bangalore-Kolkata rivalry of the Indian T20 League was on show in the 6^th match of the Indian T20 League 2022. The match turned out to be nail-biter as expected when the two teams meet.

Faf Du Plessis won the toss and put Kolkata to bat first. Kolkata never got going during their innings and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Wanindu Hasaranga was brilliant with 4 wickets from his quota of 4 overs conceding just 20 runs. Fans were seen lauding him on Twitter as he struck two consecutive wickets during his spell. Besides Hasaranga, Harshal Patel was also on song picking up 2 wickets for just 11 runs, and he was soon called by the nickname ‘Purple Patel’ by fans on internet. All the Bangalore bowlers were brilliant on the day and dismissed Kolkata for just 128 runs. Twitteratis trolled the team brutally for their poor batting show.

The pace attack of Kolkata was on fire as Bangalore began their chase. Within the third over Bangalore were 17 for 3 wickets down with both Du Plessis and Kohli dismissed cheaply. Umesh Yadav was on fire once and fans were elated to see him bowling so well. At this stage the fans were trolling Bangalore about their lowest score of 49 runs against the same Kolkata. Sherfane Rutherford and David Willey steadied the Bangalore ship with a 45 runs partnership. Narine finally dismissed Willey for 18 runs in the 11th over. With the wicket Kolkata came back into the match slowly with some good economical overs. Bangalore was visibly succumbing under pressure again.  After Shahbaz Ahmed (27 off 20) and Rutherford (28 off 40) were dismissed the pressure on them was immense. But at that moment Harshal Patel (10 off 6) and Dinesh Karthik 14 off 7)kept their calm and snatched a 3 wicket victory in the match.
