‘India’s next best finisher’ – Fans react to incredible performances by Rinku Singh in IPL 2023

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been ruled out of IPL 2023 after losing to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in match number 68 of the tournament at the Eden Gardens by just 1 run. KKR have finished in the position at the points table with six from the 14 matches. However, despite getting ruled out of the playoffs race, KKR have registered some of magnificent performances that made their season memorable.

Throughout the season, there have been different players who have proved their worth for the team. Shardul Thakur played a blistering knock of 68 runs off 29 balls against Roya Challengers Bangalore (RCB) which was followed by brilliant spells by Varun Chakravarthy and Suyash Sharma. While in the next game against Gujarat Titans (GT), where everyone was amazed by the heroics of Rinku Singh, who smashed five sixes off the last over to give KKR a thrilling victory on the last ball.

Rinku is the highest scorer for KKR in IPL 2023

After that match, Rinku became one of the most crucial players from the franchise and also continued his form for the rest of the tournament. The 25-year-old amassed 474 runs from the 14 games at an average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.53. He also registered his highest IPL score in the last game against LSG where he remained unbeaten on 67 runs off 33 balls and almost pulled of an amazing chase when 21 runs were needed off the last over.

Rinku has been one of the consistent batters for KKR in IPL 2023 and turned out to be a savior for his team many times when they lost early wickets or were in a difficult position. He consistently made scores of 40s and finished as the leading scorer for KKR in the ongoing season. After him, skipper Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer are the only batters for KKR to cross 400 runs in 2023.

Rinku turned out to be one of the biggest finds of IP 2023 along with the Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. Now fans are also demanding that Riknu should be given a chance to the Indin team soon before the 20-20 World Cup in 2024.
