India pacer Jasprit Bumrah is recently seen bowling with a red ball at the National Cricket Academy, Bangalore. In a video that is going viral, he is pretty much bowling with the match intensity. Bumrah has been out of the game since September last year. Not to forget, the right-arm pacer missed the Men’s Asia Cup due to a back injury.

After playing the first T20I against Australia last September, he was ruled out due to a stress fracture. Subsequently, he missed an all-important Men’s 20-20 World Cup 2o22 in Australia and has been missing a lot of games. In the ODI series against New Zealand at home, Bumrah was set to make his comeback. However, he was advised to rest more and recover well due to the nature of the injury.

We don’t want to take any risk regarding Jasprit Bumrah: Rohit Sharma

After India cleanly swept the former World Number One ODI team, New Zealand, the Men In Blue skipper, Hardik Pandya spoke about Bumrah’s fitness. The former had said that Bumrah won’t be available for the first Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Sharma had mentioned that he was hoping for Bumrah to play the last two Tests.

Meanwhile, in the squad announced for the remaining two games recently, Jasprit has been ruled out. Also, he won’t play any part in the following ODI series.

“About Bumrah, I’m not too sure at the moment, of course for the first two Test matches he’s not going to be available,” Rohit said after India swept New Zealand 3-0 in the ODI series.

“I’m expecting that; not expecting but hoping he plays the next two Test matches but again we don’t want to take any risk with him. The back injuries are always critical. We have got lot of cricket coming up after that as well, we will see, and we will monitor. We are in constant touch with doctors and physios at NCA and we are constantly hearing from them.”
