Star wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant has been out of Team India for a long time due to injury. In December last year, he became a victim of a terrible car accident. Since then that cricket ground is away for Pant. He suffered a serious injury to his knee in the process. Because of this, he had to undergo many surgeries. After undergoing multiple surgeries, he has now started walking and reports suggest that he has also started taking batting and wicketkeeping practice. Meanwhile, reports also talk about his return to the field.

In fact, Team India’s star wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is likely to return to the Indian team before the England series in 2024. Team India will play a five-match Test series with England in their home in January next year. He is all set to appear in the field after about a year. Also, if media reports are to be believed, Pant will play in IPL next year as well.

Rishabh Pant refer to the accident as his second birth

It was in the month of February 2023, Pant underwent surgery in Mumbai under the supervision of Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala. Post-surgery, Rishabh Pant took to social media to update his fans about his condition. The Indian wicket-keeper described his accident as his ‘second birth’ in a July 1 post on his social media.

After the unfortunate accident, Pant missed big tournaments like Border-Gavaskar Trophy, IPL, and World Test Championship. He is also going to miss the upcoming Asia Cup and ODI World Cup. Pant has played 33 Tests and scored 2271 runs at an average of 43.67, including five centuries. In these 33 Test matches, he has played some memorable innings for the team. In his absence, Team India has not been able find an worthy replacement. They have experimented with KS Bharat with less success. Secondly, KL Rahul has been inconsistent with the bat and is now injured.
