MS Dhoni’s words to Pakistan pacer Shahnawaz Dahani are pure gold
Pakistan pacer Shahnawaz Dahani is one of the most promising fast bowlers. He is plying his trade for Multan Sultans in PSL and has done remarkably well. Last year, during the 20-20 World Cup, the pacer had met MS Dhoni after the India-Pakistan game. In that game, Pakistan had beaten India for the first time in the history of the tournament. Dahani recently spoke on his interaction with MS Dhoni and said it was a dream come true moment for him. “It will take a lot of time for me to explain the level of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Meeting him was a dream come true and I can’t forget that moment. His words were quite beneficial as he told me about life, how to live life, respecting the elders. He told that there will be bad and good days in cricket but you have to embrace it and stay dedicated to the game you love the most.”
Dahani further revealed that he used to follow former Kiwi pacer, Shane Bond but is now following England pacer Jofra Archer. He expressed his desire to meet Archer. “I used to follow New Zealand’s Shane Bond and wanted to become a pacer with fast speed just like him but after his retirement, I started to follow England’s Jofra Archer and my wish is to meet him soon,” Dahani told in an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan.
The right-arm pacer added that the environment of the Multan Sultans team is like a family. Sultans have qualified for final of the PSL 2022. They won the trophy last year and are the defending champions. “Our environment in the team is just like a family. Our captain is cool and kind. We have all the freedom from him to execute our plans and a player performs when he is provided freedom and the inside fear vanishes away,” he added.
