England spinner Jack Leach will not be able to play in further Test series between India and England. On Sunday 11th February England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed this news as he won’t be able to participate due to a knee injury. This is a big setback for England as they don’t have any experienced spinners for the remaining Test matches against India.

England has confirmed that they won’t call any replacements for him as they already have 4 spinners and Joe Root as a part-time bowler in the squad. Jack Leach has played 36 Test matches for England and has taken 126 wickets.

During the first Test match against India in Rajeev Gandhi International Stadium Jack Leach picked a knee injury. Later England won the Test match. Due to injury, Jack Leach could not play the second Test match in Vizag. Shoaib Bashir made his debut for England in the second Test match. Jack Leach’s absence was seen in the second Test match.

He will fly home from Abu Dhabi: England Cricket

England are on a break after the second Test match to Abu Dhabi. Jack Leach also travelled with other team members. England and Wales Cricket Board waited for reports of his knee injury. But it seems he will need time to rehab for his injury.

Meanwhile, England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed that Jack Leach will fly back to England from Abu Dhabi and will start his rehabilitation process. He will work closely with the England and Somerset medical team to get rehab quickly.

“He will fly home from Abu Dhabi in the next 24 hours, where the England team have been staying ahead of the third Test in Rajkot, which starts on Thursday. Leach will work closely with the England and Somerset medical teams in respect of his rehabilitation,” England Cricket said in a release.

The five-Test match series between India and England is now levelled at 1-1 and the third Test match will start on 15th February in Rajkot.
