Former Pakistan cricketer Junaid Khan has claimed Rohit Sharma to be the best Indian batter. Notably, the former Pakistan pacer appeared in an interview, where the host asked him to pick the best Indian batter between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. However, the debate for the best Indian batter is between Tendulkar and Kohli, some having played against India in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Junaid said that India’s captain Rohit is the best Indian batter for him.

The 33-year-old cricketer was all praise for India’s top-order batter, as he described the Indian batter as a nightmare for the bowlers. In addition, Junaid Khan said that the 36-year-old skipper has all kinds of shots and people call him Hitman for a reason. “In my opinion, it’s Rohit Sharma. The way he bats is a nightmare for bowlers. He has all kinds of shots in his armory. They call him Hitman for a reason,” Junaid Khan added.

The former left-arm pacer further praised the ability of Rohit to play long innings. Moreover, the great seamer was of the opinion that scoring 264 against Sri Lanka and to repeat the feat of scoring 200 in ODIs is a big achievement for a batter. “Scoring 264 in an ODI match is an incredible achievement. And then to double it up with a couple of more double hundreds is a huge achievement,” added the former left-arm pacer.

“When you do it repeatedly, you show high quality” – Junaid Khan

The 2017 Champions Trophy winning-star also felt that the consistency of India’s batting legend to play such innings make him the best Indian batter. Furthermore, Junaid Khan said that Rohit has the most number of sixes in the history of international cricket to his name, which is a phenomenal achievement.

“Just like you said, doing it (Scoring daddy hundreds and double hundreds) once is an achievable feat. But, when you do it repeatedly, it shows the quality of the batter. Hence, my vote goes to Rohit,” concluded Junaid.

In the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023, Rohit shined with the bat, as he scored 597 runs in 11 innings, at an average of over 52, at a sensational strike rate of over 124.”
