Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary has bid farewell to his brief cricket career, announcing his retirement from all formats of the game. Throughout his career, he represented India in 12 ODIs and 3 T20Is, leaving a mark with his contributions to the national team. However, he had a great domestic career with the Bengal Cricket Association.

He demonstrated strong leadership qualities during his stint with Bengal’s cricket team, leading them to the Ranji Trophy 2022–23 final. Apart from his cricketing achievements, Tiwary has made strides in the political arena, holding the position of West Bengal Sports Minister.

Announcing his retirement, Manoj said, “Goodbye to the game of cricket. This game has given me everything—I mean every single thing—that I had never dreamed of, starting from the times when my life was challenged by different forms of difficulty. I will always be grateful to this game and to God, who has always been by my side throughout.”

“Thank you, sir”, Manoj says about his coach

Further thanking his friends and family who supported him during his career, Manoj said thanks to all. He wrote, “Manabendra Ghosh, my father figure, like a coach, has been the pillar in my cricketing journey. If he had not been there, I would not have reached anywhere in the cricketing circle. Thank you, sir, and I wish you a speedy recovery, as your health is not keeping well. Thank you to my Dad and mom; they both never put pressure on me to focus on my studies but rather encouraged me to continue in cricket. Big thank you to my wife, @roy_susmita7, who has always been on my side from the time she came into my life.”

It is worth noting that in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Tiwary showcased his talent by playing for multiple franchises, including the Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab, and Rising Pune Supergiants. As he steps away from the cricket field, Manoj Tiwary leaves behind a legacy of dedication, talent, and contributions to the sport that will be remembered by cricket enthusiasts and fans alike.
