The New Zealand batter Kane Williamson is having a dream run in his Test career as he has scored back-to-back hundreds in the first Test match against South Africa at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.

In the first innings against South Africa, Kane Williamson smashed 109 runs from 132 balls which included 12 fours and one six. On Day 2 South Africa could manage to score only 162 runs in the first innings. On Day 3 Kane Williamson came up with the top game and scored 118 runs from 289 balls and smashed 16 fours.

In the second innings, New Zealand scored a big lead of 528 runs and had 7 wickets in hand because Kane Williamson scored back-to-back hundreds.

Meanwhile, Kane Williamson has scored his 31st Test hundred trailing behind Steve Smith. He has also scored his 18th Test hundred. He is also the sixth player with the most Test hundreds at home.

Don Bradman and Joe Root both have 18 Test hundreds at home. While Jacques Kallis Ricky Ponting and Mahela Jayawardene have scored 23 hundreds each. Kane Williamson has played 46 Test matches at home and he has scored 4487 runs with an average of 69.03.

New Zealand dominates South Africa in first Test match

Along with Steve Smith of Australia, Kane Williamson has become the second fastest to score 31 Test centuries. Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar has reached this feat in his 165th innings.

Kane Williamson has become the fifth New Zealander batter to score two hundred on the same wicket. Glenn Turner, Geoff Howarth, Peter Fulton and Andrew Jones are the players to do this feat.

He has converted 10 out of his last 11 fifty-plus runs in Test. Kane Williamson has hit three Test hundreds at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui which makes him the most batter to hit a century at the venue.

At the end of Day 3 New Zealand has gained an upper hand as Darly Mitchell and Tom Blundell are unbeaten and Kiwis are ahead by 528 runs against South Africa.
