Star India batter, Shubman Gill received a lot of awards in the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards 2023. He was awarded the CEAT Men’s International Cricketer of the Year award, the CEAT International Batter of the Year award, and the CEAT ODI Batter of the Year award. Former cricketers like Madan Lal and Karsan Ghavri received the Lifetime Achievement awards.
“I’m honored to be selected as the recipient of the coveted CEAT Men’s International Cricketer of the Year. As a cricketer, it’s always about pushing boundaries, facing challenges head-on, and constantly improving to reach new heights. This recognition reinforces the parallel between our commitment to excellence and would encourage me to strive harder,” Gill was quoted as saying in the awards.
In the interview, Shubman Gill was asked if the word ‘superhero’ suits Virat Kohli and to answer that Shubman Gill said “Hulk, he is that Hulk energy.”

A memorable year to remember for Shubman Gill
Sunil Gavaskar, Chief Adjudicator of the CEAT Cricket Ratings shared his feeling about the event. “The CEAT Cricket Rating has been a torchbearer to recognize and promote impeccable talent in this great sport. The award winners this year are global role models of sport and it should hopefully inspire future generations of great talent to take up the mantle ahead,” former India opener asserted.
If we talk about the youngster’s performance this year, it is a memorable one for him to remember. So far in 2023, the 23-year-old has scored a century in the T20Is, a double hundred in the ODIs, and a magnificent Indian Premier League (IPL) where he was awarded the Orange cap as he was the highest scorer of the tournament. He scored 890 runs in 17 matches with two centuries in the 16th edition of IPL.
The right-hand batter will be next seen playing in the Asia Cup 2023. The 16th edition of the Asia Cup is scheduled to kick start on August 30. The first match of the tournament is set to be played between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan, Pakistan. India will play their opening fixture of the Asia Cup against arch-rivals, Pakistan on September 2, in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
