France captain and striker Kylian Mbappe has informed Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) that he will be leaving the club after this season as his contract comes to an end in June this year. Earlier in the 2021-2022 season he was set to leave PSG on a free transfer but signed a new contract of two years with an option of one year. As his contract is coming to an end, he is heavily linked to Real Madrid for the summer transfer window.

“Mbappe has communicated his decision to PSG but the terms of his exit are yet to be fully agreed. An official announcement is expected once the situation is finalized in the next few months,” the report said.

Earlier this season Kylian Mbappe was exiled from the first-team squad and was left out from the pre-season team. After the mutual agreement between him and the PSG owner, he was backed into the squad. In the most recent match of PSG against Real Sociedad in the UEFA Champions League in the first leg, Kylian Mbappe scored a goal as PSG won 2-0 over Real Sociedad.

Record breaker at PSG

For PSG Kylian Mbappe has scored 31 goals and has given 7 assists in 30 games across all formats this season. In 19 Ligue 1 matches he has scored 20 goals as of now he is the top goal-scorer in Ligue 1. PSG are 11 points above Nice in Ligue 1. PSG will also square off against Nice in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France.

Kylian Mbappe has scored 237 goals from 284 matches as he becomes PSG’s all-time top scorer by suppressing Edinson Cavani. In 2023, Kylian Mbappe scored 52 goals overall and for PSG he scored 42 goals.

With PSG Kylian Mbappe has won six Ligue 1 trophies, three French Cups, two French League, and three French Super Cups. He also won FIFA World Cup 2018 with France and in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, he won the Golden Boot with France. He has also won the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award twice.

After AS Monaco’s contract ended PSG paid him 180 million Euros in 2017 making him the second-highest paid player at the time. PSG tops the Ligue 1 table as they have played 21 matches and won 15 while losing only one and has drawn five. PSG has 50 points.
