The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has reached the halfway stage, and thus far, the competition has witnessed a number of outstanding performances in the games. There hasn’t been a shortage of excitement in the game, from Faf du Plessis’s storm at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to Venkatesh Iyer’s tough century.
Bollywood actress Ananya Pandey predicts that Royal Challengers Bangalore player Virat Kohli will end up being the highest run-scorer in IPL 2023 even though the competition for the Orange Cap is growing more thrilling with each game. Pandey had come on Star Sports to promote her movie “Dream Girl 2” before the RCB-Kolkata Knight Riders match.

“I think…this time, it will be (Virat) Kohli,” Ananya was quoted as saying to the experts. Virat Kohli, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, won the toss and chose to bowl against Kolkata Knight Riders in their IPL encounter on Wednesday. The 34-year-old is replacing RCB regular skipper Faf du Plessis, who will only be available as a batter in this match, for the third time in this IPL season.
“Decided to bowl first. No brainer. Evening game at Chinnaswamy, we’ve chased well here. It was unexpected but nothing I’m not used to (stand-in captaincy). It’s been fun so far because of the way the team has been playing. Faf will be playing the impact role again. Hopefully, he’ll be back leading from the next game. Looks like a great pitch, the usual Chinnaswamy pitch that we expect,” Kohli was quoted as saying after winning the toss.
“Second half of the tournament has started, it’s an important game. We’ve played some good cricket, some not so good. It’s time to step up. If we play well collectively, the result will be in our favour. In previous games, we’ve had forced changes. Shardul had a niggle, Gurbaz had a niggle. We were going to bat. One change from the last match – Vaibhav Arora comes in for Kulwant,” KKR skipper, Nitish Rana stated during the time of toss.
