‘Like father, like son’ – Ex-Pak pacer’s catch eyeballs with lethal bowling, video goes viral
Former Pakistani Cricketer Yasir Arafat shared a video of his son nailing back to back yorkers in a junior club game. Ammaar Arafat, Arafat’s son, appears to be following in his father’s footsteps, as he demonstrated his own quick bowling abilities. Unlike his father, who was a right-arm bowler in his playing days, Ammaar bowled left-arm quick.
Playing for Bromley CC, Ammaar took two wickets in the first two balls that he bowled with yorkers. Those two wickets were bowled. Ammaar attempted a hat trick with a full delivery but failed to grab the wicket. Yasir took to Twitter to share the video. “Ammaar missed out on his hatrick,” he wrote in the caption. Meanwhile, Ammaar’s teammates and the spectators were heard chanting ‘hattrick-hattrick’ on his third delivery.

Yasir Arafat played three Tests, 11 ODIs, and 13 T20Is during his international career, which began in 2000 and ended in 2012. He made his international debut at the age of 17. Despite his little involvement with the national team, he was a popular talent in County Cricket and T20 Leagues across the world. He has represented Scotland, Kent, Somerset, Lancashire, Surrey, and Sussex. Apart from that, he has played domestic cricket for the Dolphins in South Africa. The right-hander has also played for the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League. He has played for Barisal Burners in the Bangladesh Premier League. He has played for teams such as Otago and Canterbury in New Zealand.
Meanwhile, the former pacer is very active on social media. He recently shared another video in which he, his kid, and a few others are playing rooftop cricket. He can be seen batting first in it when his son also bowled to him. Later on, he also got his hands at bowling. “Post iftar relaxation at @RooftopCricket,” he wrote in his tweet.
