LoL esports gives a sneak peek at League Hall of Legends
At the beginning of 2024, Riot Games announced they would be introducing Hall of Legends. It was depicted as a “celebration of players” who have made a lasting impact in the League of Legends (LoL) esports community.
Following up on the statement, LoL Esports has now released a short video giving a highlight of what the Hall of Legends is all about. The entire workings are not yet clear, players named as inductees in Hall of Legends may get their in-game item, champion skin, etc.
“Every path begins with mastery. The game sense, the mechanics, the foundation. But mastery alone is not enough. They need resilience, the mental fortitude to clutch time and time again,” the video narration said.
Resilience, mental fortitude to clutch, what do they mean?
While one can become proficient in all the champion abilities. Players even have a few they like and have mastered their play style. However, it is not quite enough in a high-stakes match.
Being able to keep fighting when the odds are against your team is very important. In situations when you are the last man standing and still able to defend in a clutch situation is equally important. All this also increases team morale.
However, the wording is a bit confusing for fans as they are now debating what players should be in the Hall of Legends. Some debate it is about retired players who have left their mark in the LoL esports. Others say the current legends will also be included.
While the inductees will ultimately be determined by an independent panel of esports industry veterans and experts, players have their favourites in mind.
