Martin Guptill fit for India clash, confirms Trent Boult
India and New Zealand will face off in a blockbuster clash of the 20-20 World Cup on Sunday, October 31. The match stands of utmost importance and there are high chances that the winner of this match will qualify for the semifinals along with Pakistan.
Both teams have lost their first game to Pakistan and given that they will face slightly weaker oppositions in their final three games, which they are likely to end up winning, many are seeing this India-New Zealand clash as a virtual knockout.
Ahead of this crucial game, there were doubts about the participation of Kiwi opener Martin Guptill, who was hit by a pacy yorker by Haris Rauf in the game against Pakistan. However, pacer Trent Boult has confirmed that Guptill has recovered and is fit to play against India.
Guptill has been going through a lean patch but still, he is one of the best New Zealand batters and the Kiwis will be hoping for a big innings from him at the top.
Meanwhile, Boult also revealed that he is keen to emulate Shaheen Afridi against India. Afridi proved to be a hot cup of tea for the Indians and dismantled the India batting lineup with his sheer pace and swing. The left-armer scalped the wickets of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. Boult, who is a like to like bowler to Afridi, said he is expecting some swing for himself as well. “The way Shaheen bowled was amazing, hopefully, it swings for me as well and I can do what Shaheen did in the other night against India,” Boult said.
