The dates of much awaited ODI World Cup have been released as the tournament is scheduled to take place later this year in the month of October and November. The most anticipated fixture between India and Pakistan is scheduled to take place on October 15 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Amid the release of dates of the India vs Pakistan encounter, the hotel price in Ahmedabad saw a sudden rise.

There may have been an extremely high demand for rooms, based on the cost on a number of hotel booking websites. While most hotels are already fully booked for that day, the price of renting a room has climbed by almost 10 times, with some costing close to one lakh rupees. The tournament is set to commence in less than 100 days, and hotels have already begun to receive reservations in advance.

Meanwhile, the cost of living is rising significantly. A five-star hotel in the city’s base category may frequently charge Rs 50,000 per night, according to industry sources who talked with TOI. Normally, these rooms cost between Rs 6,500 and Rs 10,500.

India to face Australia in their World Cup opener

The 2023 edition of the ODI World Cup is scheduled to kick start on October 5 with a fixture between last year’s finalists, England and New Zealand, at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India will play their first match of the tournament against Australia at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on October 8.

Semi-final 1 of World Cup 2023 will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15th, while the second semi-final is scheduled at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on 16th November. The final will take place on 19th November at the largest cricket stadium in the world: Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This will be the first time that India will fully host the World Cup in the country. Earlier, India co-hosted the tournament with the neighbouring countries in 1987, 1996 and 2011.
