Michael Vaughan replied to Mohammad Hafeez’s controversial take on Virat Kohli in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. In a dugout show, Hafeez was seen criticizing Virat for some of his performances in the tournament. Hafeez felt that Virat was selfish during the match against South Africa in the ODI World Cup 2023. The former Pakistan cricketer said that Virat took singles in the last few overs, instead of targeting boundaries.

The take of Hafeez did not go well with many. The former cricketers and fans blasted him for his opinion on Virat. Hafeez said that it was the third instance of him playing a selfish knock in the tournament. Fans countered him saying that India won all the matches eventually. the dugout in which Hafeez gave his opinions, had some of the former Pakistan cricketers like Wahab Riaz and Rashid Latif.

The two cricketers criticized the take of Hafeez as well. After that, the opinion of Hafeez went viral on the internet. Many questioned the capability of Hafeez as an analyst. Virat scored the 49th ODI hundred in the match and scripted history. While many praised him for the achievement, others felt that Kohli was a bit selfish in his approach towards the second half of the innings.

Like many, the former England captain gave his views on Hafeez’s comments. Vaughan felt that Hafeez was not making any sense with his statement. The former English cricketer added that India has played great cricket and hammered 8 teams in the tournament till now. Vaughan said that Virat played the role of anchor to perfection on a tricky wicket to bat on.

“Come on @MHafeez22 !!! India have hammered 8 teams playing great cricket ..@imVkohli now has 49 tons and his last was an anchor role innings on a tricky pitch .. His team won by over 200 !!!! Many reacted to the opinion of Vaughan and felt that he had an unbiased opinion on Virat Kohli’s performance in the tournament till now.
