Mitchell McClenaghan shuts Indian fan who trolled New Zealand for T20I series loss
New Zealand pacer Mitchell McClenaghan gave a stunning reply to an Indian fan who tried to troll New Zealand after their second consecutive loss against India in the three-match series. The cheeky fan used two laughter emojis while tweeting, “New Zealand lost series 😂😂.”
McClenaghan, who is very active on social media, took notice of the jibe and reminding him that New Zealand played the series within 72 hours of playing the 20-20 World Cup final against Australia. In his tweet, he termed the series ‘meaningless, adding that New Zealand are playing against a team that has got enough time to regroup. McClenaghan’s tweet can be seen as a jibe to team India over their early exit from the 20-20 World Cup.
“Did they? You mean in a meaningless series 72 hours after a WC final defeat with three games in five days playing a team with 10 days rest in their home conditions?”

Earlier, New Zealand skipper Tim Southee also pointed out the hectic schedule as one of the reasons for New Zealand’s poor show. “It’s been a hectic schedule on the back of the T20 World Cup, I just don’t think we adapted to the surface as well as we could have,” Southee said at the post-match conference.
New Zealand will be looking to end the series on a high. The two teams clash in the final T20I on Sunday.
