Mohammad Kaif and Gautam Gambhir stuck in an awkward disagreement about KL Rahul’s come back

Recently, during India’s clash with the arch-rivals Pakistan, the Hindi language, commentators and former Indian cricket team players, Mohammad Kaif and Gautam Gambhir got into an awkward conversation. In a series of disagreements, Kaif and Gambhir discussed the Indian cricket team’s squad after the return of India’s wicket-keeper batsman, KL Rahul.

Rahul has missed being a part of the Indian cricket team squad ever since he got injured during a match in the Indian Premier League against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Struck with a hamstring injury, KL Rahul was forced to miss the rest of the season of the IPL, the world test championship final against Australia, and India’s tour of West Indies.

Mohammad Kaif and Gautam Gambhir about KL  Rahul’s comeback

As per Mohammad Kaif, as soon as KL Rahul comes back to the squad, Ishan Kishan will have to make way for him, despite his incredible performances, to which Gambhir openly disagreed and criticised his statement during the Indian vs Pakistan match.

“KL Rahul is a proven match-winner. At No. 5 his numbers are fabulous. So Rahul Dravid knows, there is that clarity in his mind that…remember, Mohammed Shami was dropped today. So, when KL Rahul is fit again, he will be playing in the XI and Ishan Kishan will have to wait for his next opportunity. Ishan is doing all that he needs. He scored in that series against West Indies…..his graph is only going up and is getting better by the day. He has a double century to his name as well. He has class and talent but he cannot replace Rahul yet because the latter is not playing because of bad form, but due to an injury,” said  Kaif.

“To win the World Cup, name is more important or form? Had Kohli or Rohit made those four consecutive fifties, would you have said the same thing about KL Rahul? When you are preparing to win a World Cup, you don’t look at a name, you look at the form of a player that could win you the trophy,” replied Gambhir.
