‘This is Ifti mania’ – Fans react as Multan Sultans beat Lahore Qalandars in 7th game of PSL 2024

Multan Sultans won the seventh game of PSL 2024 against Lahore Qalandars at Multan Cricket Stadium in Lahore on February 21. Speaking about the game here, it was Lahore Qalandars skipper Shaheen Afridi who won the toss and invited the Multan Sultans side to field first in the game. Notably, after being opted to bat first, Lahore Qalandars posted 166/5 in the given 20 overs.

Lahore Qalandars had a great start as star batter Fakhar Zaman made 41 runs from 36 balls, featuring two boundaries and two sixes and securing the great stand with Rousse van der Dussen, who also hammered the half-century in the game. Notably, the stylish right-handed batter went on to score 54 runs from 37 balls, including four fours and two sixes, with a solid strike rate of 146.

However, following him, star all-rounder Sikandar Raza also made 23 runs from 16 balls, scoring four runs, while Jahandad Khan also made 16 runs from nine balls. Abdullah Shafique and Craig Braithwaite also went on to hammer 6 and 15 runs, respectively, to post a decent total of 166/5 in the given 20 overs.

Star all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed stayed till the end to help Multan Sultans win the game

Meanwhile, the Multan Sultans didn’t have a great start in the chase as left-handed batter David Malan was out on the duck while Reeza Hendricks made nine runs from seven balls. Following him, Yasir Khan also departed for eight runs in the game. Notably, the skipper, Mohammed Rizwan, went on to score 82 runs from 59 balls, featuring nine boundaries and three sixes but lost his crucial wickets. However, star all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed stayed till the end to help his side win the game.
