Bangladesh star cricketer Najmul Hossain Shanto has recently opened up about the Bangladesh Cricket Team’s plan for winning matches in all three formats. Notably, the 25-year-old cricketer was the interim skipper in the absence of Shakib-Al-Hasan; however, he is set to lead his side in all the formats from the three matches of the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka, commencing on March 4.

However, Najmul Hossain Shanto reveals that for him, captaincy in all three forms is tough, but planning will make it easier for him. The top-order batter accepted that he knew the strengths and weaknesses of each player, but planning would make his work very easy to help his side win the games.

“I know it [being all format captain] is challenging but for planning it will be easier. I have to know about every cricketer though we stay together and playing together but to do the planning it will be easier as I am in charge of three formats. I hope something good will happen,” Najmul Hossain Shanto told reporters at SICS.

We are yet to win a big tournament so want to move forward with the plan: Najmul Hossain Shanto

Najmul Hossain Shanto feels that their side has been playing Test cricket well for the past few years and winning matches, especially in their home soil conditions. Moreover, the left-handed batter aims to improve the white-ball game to help his side win the marquee event against tough teams.

“I don’t think we have improved a lot in Test cricket but we are playing better than before and what I want personally is that when we are playing at home we can win those matches and everyone should build up [understand] the importance of Test cricket. When we are going abroad we should be able to compete. In ODIs we are doing good but as a team we are yet to win a big tournament so want to move forward with the plan on how we can play well in a big tournament and bring a trophy for the country,” he added further.
