‘No. 8 is too early for me, put me at 11’ – Ravindra Jadeja’s hilarious comment regarding CSK batting position
The Indian Premier League 2022 mega auctions are just a few days away, and everyone seems to get into the action. More recently, it was Ravindra Jadeja taking a dig at a Twitter handle.
Star Sports Tamil handle tweeted a post with Chennai Super Kings’ playing XI, where they had put Ravindra Jadeja at number 8. Jadeja, on point with his reply, said “He said, No 8 too early for me! Put me @ 11.”
The Twitter handle asked for fans’ predictions for the line-up they would want to see for Chennai Super Kings this year. The four retained players were already included in the playing XI. Ruturaj Gaikwad was the first opener, Moeen Ali was at number three, MS Dhoni at number seven, and Ravindra Jadeja at number eight. Jadeja also asked for a translation of the tweet earlier.

CSK skipper, MS Dhoni was spotted in Chennai earlier. It is understood that he was there to discuss the team strategies ahead of the mega auctions with the team management. Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions and have won a total of four championships.
Ravindra Jadeja has been a crucial part of the CSK franchise for many years. In 2021, he scored 227 runs at a strike rate over 145. He also had 13 wickets at an economy of just 7.06. Chennai Super Kings retained Jadeja for 16 crores, captain MS Dhoni for 12 crores, Moeen Ali for 8 crores, and Ruturaj Gaikwad for 6 crores. They have a total of 48 crores left in their purse to rebuild their team.
The IPL mega auction is scheduled for the 12th and 13th of February in Bangalore. As many as 1214 players have registered themselves for the mega event. The tournament is expected to begin towards the end of March.
