Ulrich Hoeneß, a member of the Bayern Munich board, has outlined his reasons for opposing the transfer of Harry Kane, who Manchester United monitors. The Bavarians were rumoured to be interested in signing the Tottenham Hotspur striker in the summer. According to reports, the Bundesliga’s juggernauts spoke with Kane’s representatives about a potential transfer last December. The English forward’s contract with Spurs expires in a year, and a new one has not yet been reached.

The future of the 29-year-old is uncertain as long as Tottenham keeps losing. They lost to AC Milan in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, ending their chances of winning a trophy this year. But, Hoeneß has outlined why he doesn’t believe Kane should be moved. He referred to his €100 million price tag and his age, “I can imagine that a player will come to us who costs €100m. But in the case of Kane, I expressed my opinion. He’s almost 30. Last year (Tottenham) turned down €160m from (Manchester City). That’s why I said that wouldn’t be a transfer for us. ”

Jamie Carragher also opened up on Kane’s potential move to Manchester United

Kane has been on a tear this season, scoring 20 goals in 37 outings across all competitions. There is a perception that this summer will be his last chance to join a trophy-winning European powerhouse. After Tottenham drew 0-0 with Milan and lost 1-0 on aggregate in the Champions League’s round of 16, Liverpool great Jamie Carragher asserted as much.

He stated, “The big question now is about Harry Kane. If he doesn’t leave this summer, he will stay at Tottenham for the rest of his career. I think it’s now or never for him. “I think the only place he can go realistically is Manchester United. I don’t want to see him there for obvious reasons, but Man City have [Erling] Haaland, Liverpool have [Darwin] Nunez, he can’t go to Arsenal or Chelsea.”

Given their urgent need for a new centre-forward, the Red Devils have been linked with a deal for Kane. They started talking about a potential summer blockbuster transfer. Upon the expiration of his loan at the season’s conclusion, Wout Weghorst is most likely to return to Burnley. Their only choices up top are Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford as a result.
