In the finals of the ODI World Cup 2023, India takes on Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In a high-voltage game, India lost the toss and batted first. India skipper Rohit Sharma gave the team a flying start as he scored another 47-run knock. India were two down for 80 runs in 10 overs before things turned around.

Indian batters struggled to score runs on a tricky pitch as the team got bundled up for 240 runs in 50 overs. Apart from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, not a single batter was able to cross the 50-run mark. However, the team received a lot of support from the crowd, and some prominent figures also cheered for India at the world’s largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad.

From Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan to Home Minister Amit Shah, everyone was cheering for India. Apart from Shah Rukh, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, actor Ranveer Singh, Vivek Oberoi, Anushka Sharma, and Arbaz Khan were also present in the stands. Former India cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, and MS Dhoni were also at the ground.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to be present during the 2nd inning

Amid the ongoing finals, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles will also visit the stadium. Two political leaders, along with a big envoy, will be making an appearance during the second innings. However, other prominent figures like Sadhguru, Prakash Padukone, and Neeraj Chopra also graced the event.

It’s worth noting that India started the second inning on a good note. Pacers Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah clinched three quick wickets as they fell three for just 47 runs. Bumrah took two wickets as he dismissed Mitchell Marsh and Steve Smith. On the other hand, David Warner was dismissed by Shami for 7 runs in 3 balls.
