Virat Kohli becomes Player of the Tournament

Star India batter Virat Kohli won the Player of the Tournament award for his amazing batting performance in the marquee event. The 34-year-old batter has scored 765 runs at an average of 95.62 in 11 innings. In these 11 games, Kohli has scored three centuries and six half-centuries, including 117 runs in the semifinals against New Zealand.

Meanwhile, star India pacer Mohammed Shami finished as the top wicket-taker in the tournament. With 24 wickets in just 7 games at an average of 10.71, Shami has been phenomenal with the ball. He was followed by Australian spinner Adam Zampa, who took 23 wickets in 11 games at an average of 22.89.

It’s worth noting that Australia continued their dominance over India in the ODI World Cups. The Men in Blue have won just five games in nine encounters against six-time world champions. India will now continue their quest for the World Cup in T20 cricket as both teams will face each other in a five-match series starting on November 24.
