Parthiv Patel takes a dig at Virat Kohli with a cryptic tweet
Former India cricketer Parthiv Patel attracted the limelight after his surprising revelation about Virat Kolhi’s opinion on Jasprit Bumrah in 2014. At that time, Patel was playing for Bangalore in the Indian T20 League and had asked his skipper Virat Kohli to look at Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling. In reply, Kohli had said that he doesn’t need to as Bumrah won’t possess much of a threat.
“In 2014, when I was at RCB, I told Kohli there’s this bowler named Bumrah. Have a look at him. Virat replied saying ‘Chhor na yaar. Ye Bumrah-Vumrah kya karenge?’ (Leave it. What will such players do,” Parthiv had said on Cricbuzz. Post the comment, Patel was massively trolled on social media with Kohli fans taking a dig at former India player.
Within 24 hours of the statement, the former wicketkeeper batter took to Twitter and wrote ‘neem ka Patta aur sach dono kadwa hai’ (Azadirachta indica and truth are bitter in taste and hard to swallow), mocking the trollers.

Patel had heaps of praise for Jasprit Bumrah and reflected on his evolvement as one of the best bowlers. Patel said Bumrah didn’t have the best of starts to his ITL career but Mumbai backed him and with hard work and dedication, he went on become one of the best in business.
“When he was first picked, Bumrah played Ranji Trophy for the first 2-3 years. 2013 was his first year, and he didn’t have a good season in 2014. In 2015, it was so bad that there were discussions going on that he might have to be sent back home mid-season. But, he slowly began improving and Mumbai Indians really backed him. It was his own hard work and such backing that really brought out the best in him,” Parthiv Patel said in the same interaction.
