On March 8, the entire world celebrated International Women’s Day. Three days later, pictures of Indian-origin girls playing cricket in Norway has surfaced on social media. In these pictures, the ladies are seen wearing traditional attire while playing cricket. Notably, the women are enjoying cricket in the snow.
The International Cricket Council Europe (ICC Europe) shared pictures of them playing cricket in saree on Twitter with the caption “Meet the ladies from Vestli Cricket Club in Norway, proving that cricket is a game played anywhere, anytime and by anyone” .

The Women’s cricket has seen a lot of growth in recent times. The improved quality of the women’s game has motivated young girls to take up the sport and the future for the same looks bright now.
Talking about Women’s Cricket, the new edition of the Women’s World Cup is currently being staged in New Zealand where eight teams such as India, Pakistan, West Indies, New Zealand, Australia, Bangladesh, South Africa, and England are competing against each other. India have had a decent run in the tournament so far. They started their campaign with a big win over Pakistan, before being annihilated by New Zealand in the second game. In the third game, they crushed West Indies women by 155 runs. They are currently placed at the helm of the points table.
