Piers Morgan predicts Croatia’s win against Argentina, takes U-Turn after the game

In the first semifinal of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022, two-time winners, Argentina played against 2018 finalists, Croatia. Talking about both teams, the two-time winners had only lost to Saudi Arabia. Apart from that, they won every game including the penalty shootout in the quarterfinal against arch-rivals, Netherlands. On the other hand, Croatia was yet to lose a game and had conceded only five goals (two in the penalty shootout against Brazil in the quarterfinal) in the tournament.
Meanwhile. ahead of the game, famous British broadcaster Piers Morgan predicted Croatia’s win. He took to Twitter and wrote “PREDICTION: Croatia will beat Argentina, France will beat Morocco, and France will beat Croatia in the final to win the World Cup.” Notably, his prediction proved wrong as the former champions thrashed Croatia by 3-0 with Lionel Messi scoring a goal and Julian Alvarez scoring two.

However, after the game, Morgan took a hilarious U-Turn. Apparently, after the game, he congratulated the winning side and claimed that he never doubted the side. “Congratulations to Argentina & Lionel Messi on reaching the World Cup final. Never doubted them.”

Meanwhile, the Lionel Messi-led side has made it to the final after 2014. In that tournament, they lost to Germany in the final. This time around, they would either play the defending champions, France or Morocco depending on the results of the second semis on December 14.

After the game, the Argentina skipper said that the ongoing tournament has been incredible for the team. He added that the team will be enjoying while playing in the final.
“Throughout the World Cup it has been incredible what we have experienced. We are going to play the final which is what we wanted,” Messi said.
“I don’t know if it’s my best World Cup, it’s been a long time I’ve been enjoying. This team is crazy. We are going to play one more final, we are going to enjoy all of this.”
