Young Indian opener Prithvi Shaw has been out of the Indian team’s scheme of things for the last two years. Despite his enormous talent, the attacking right-handed batter hasn’t been picked in the Indian playing XI. The last time Shaw was picked for the Indian team was early this year for the New Zealand T20 series.

Prithvi Shaw is currently out for a few months after suffering an injury during his county stint. The 23-year-old has been targeted for his fitness in recent times, especially on the social media platform.

Prithvi Shaw is very active on social media platforms and he had a recent encounter with a fan who tried to body-shame him. The fan in question replied to Shaw who had put up a picture of himself with his bat in hand. The fan wrote “A Prithvi bhai ldki vdki ka chakkar chod aur Kohli k trh apne body ko transform kr… jo .. jo process usne kiya that wahi kar”

Not one to take a lying down, Shaw was quick to give a response to the fan. Shaw wrote, “ji panditji jaisi aapki aagya”. The cricketer showed no signs of anger towards the fan. The classic reply from Shaw had garnered a massive amount of likes from the fans.

Shaw recently was in England, playing for Northamptonshire in the One-Day Cup. Shaw played four games before his stint was cut short due to an injury. He began with scores of 34 against Gloucestershire and 26 against Essex.

The highlight of the stint was the 244-run knock, which came against Somerset. Shaw’s knock came off 153 balls with 28 fours and 11 sixes in his knock. This was followed by an unbeaten 125 off 76 balls with 15 fours and 7 sixes against Durham.

Just as the form was picking up for the 23-year-old, Shaw suffered a tear on his Posterior Cruciate Ligament. While the injury was initially feared to be bad, subsequent scans showed that the injury was a minor one. The right-handed batter from Mumbai is not expected to go under the knife and possibly return soon to the field.
