PSL 7: Franchises reveal list of retained players

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises have revealed the list of retained players for the upcoming season of PSL. Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, and Peshawar Zalmi have retained maximum eight players.

Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators have retained seven players. Now, the focus will shift to player draft, which is set to take place at National High Performance Center on Sunday (December 12). A total of 425 players from 32 countries have registered for the draft.

Lahore Qalandars will be the first team to pick from the Platinum category, followed by Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators.

The six teams can have up to 18 players, which includes three players from platinum, diamond, and gold categories. From the sliver category, five players can be picked. From the emerging and supplementary categories, two players can be selected. The PCB have also introduced the Right to Match Card for the seventh season which will allow the franchises to pick a player they released from their roaster.

After a lot of uncertainty over foreign players’ participation in PSL seven, players like David Miller, Chis Gayle, Jason Roy, Ollie Robinson, and Lendl Simmons among others have confirmed their availability.
