Ravindra Jadeja Gave A Fitting Reply While He Was Asked About Chennai’s Captaincy Debacle

Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja is currently busy with the Indian Test Team as they are playing the fifth rescheduled Test match against England at Edgbaston in Birmingham. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah led the team. Rishabh Pant and Jadeja scored two centuries to help India in posting a big total of 416 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja also stitched a solid partnership of 222 runs with Rishabh Pant as India managed to avoid the early setbacks in the first innings. After the end of Day two, England was quite struggling to score against Indian bowlers freely. Jadeja also came to attend the press conference and when he was asked about the captaincy debacle of his Chennai franchise, he gave a fitting reply to reporters.

“What happened, happened. Indian T20 League was not on my mind” – Ravindra Jadeja

After getting appointed as the captain of the Chennai franchise, he resigned from the captaincy role, and later, he got ruled out of the tournament due to injury. Speaking to the press, Jadeja was asked if he was more charged up for this return after what happened in the Chennai franchise during this year’s Indian T20 League edition. He came up with a witty reply as he just said: “Absolutely not.”

Jadeja also added that his total focus was on the Indian Team as whatever happened, it already happened in the Indian T20 League. “What happened, happened. Indian T20 League was not on my mind. Whenever you are playing for India, your entire focus needs to be on the Indian team. It was the same for me, there is no better satisfaction than performing well for India,” he added.

He also expressed his joy after scoring his maiden Test ton outside India.  “It feels really good to do it outside India, especially in England. To hit a 100 as a player is a really big thing. I can really take some confidence in myself as a player from this, to score a 100 in England, especially in swinging conditions, so yeah it feels really good,” Jadeja concluded.
