2nd April, 2011 is a date etched in the memories of Indian cricket fans. India won the 2011 Cricket World Cup on that day after 28 years. The then skipper of the Indian team, MS Dhoni played an excellent knock in the finals and won the match for his team with a six. That shot itself has become iconic, but adding to the moment was the beautiful commentary by Ravi Shastri. As the ball went out of the ground Shastri commentated – “Dhoni finishes off in style…… India lift the World Cup after 28 years…. The party start in the dressing room.”

A video went viral on social media on the same date after 11 years. In the video, the Chennai skipper Ravindra Jadeja is seen repeating the words that Shastri commentated during the iconic moment. It was a fitting tribute to the former skipper of the franchise, who played a memorable knock of 91 runs off 79 deliveries on the night of that match.

Notably, both Ravi Shastri and Ravindra Jadeja are a part of the Indian T20 League 2022. After his stint as the head coach of the Indian national team Ravi Shastri is back behind the mic for the Indian T20 League 2022. Although he is now a part of the Hindi commentary team, a job new to him. Before his coaching stint, he was famous for his excellent English commentary.

Ravindra Jadeja, on the other hand, has begun a new journey as the skipper of the Chennai team. MS Dhoni, the former skipper of the team stepped down from the role just before the beginning of the tournament and handed over the responsibilities to Jadeja. However, thus far his journey has not been a happy one. Chennai has lost both their matches in the 15th edition of the tournament under Jadeja.
