Despite nobody even comparing him to Lionel Messi, fans lavished admiration on superstar Bernardo Silva of Manchester City for his performance against Real Madrid. In the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals at the Etihad, Silva scored twice to lead City to a 4-0 victory. With the victory, Pep Guardiola’s team advanced to the final. On the two-leg match, they came out on top with a score of 5-1 overall.

In the 23rd minute, Silva gave the home team the lead. Real Madrid was under heavy pressure from City before the goal. The Portuguese scored after Kevin De Bruyne successfully found him inside the penalty area and beat Thibaut Courtois on the near post. With a headed goal in the 37th minute, Silva increased his team’s lead. The outcome of the game was decided by an own goal by Eder Militao in the second half and a late score by Erling Haaland’s replacement, Julian Alvarez.

The defending champions, the Cityzens, have now advanced to the finals. Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul will host their match against Inter Milan. Silva was outstanding throughout the game, aside from his brace. In the first half, he plagued Eduardo Camavinga. In addition, the 28-year-old made 52 passes and finished three dribbles. He also prevailed in five ground battles.

Bernado Silva – Third player to score two goals in UCL semi-final

Fans praised the footballer for giving an outstanding performance when it was called for. One of them tweeted:

“Bernardo Silva is literally premier League’s Lionel Messi. Blud be dropping masterclass upon masterclass.” Another fan wrote: “Bernardo Silva the epitome of a big game player. Please stay forever, we love you so much.”

In the match versus Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semifinals, Bernardo Silva became just the third player to net at least two goals. In the first leg of the semi-final in 2010–2011, Lionel Messi achieved this. The other footballer to accomplish so is Robert Lewandowski. In the first leg of the 2012–13 semi–final versus Los Blancos, the Pole scored four goals. Silva’s brace has already accomplished this in 2022–2023.

When Manchester City plays Inter Milan in the semifinal, they will need their Portuguese magician to be at his spectacular best. To advance to the finals, the Nerazzuri defeated AC Milan 3-0 overall over the course of two legs.
