In what will be good news for Mumbai Indians and India, Rohit Sharma showed some fantastic form in the Indian Premier League game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The MI skipper scored a fluent 56 off 37 balls with eight fours and one six. He formed a wonderful partnership with Cameron Green at the top of the order. Green played an amazing knock and scored his first IPL hundred.

Rohit and Green came together to help the Mumbai Indians hunt down SRH’s target of 200-5. MI won the game with two overs to spare. This important win almost sealed MI’s spot in the playoffs. They will now need Gujarat Titans to beat RCB to get into the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Rohit smashed his second half-century in IPL 2023. When he made the valuable half-century, he got to the milestone of 5000 runs for Mumbai Indians as he became only the second batter after Virat Kohli to reach the prestigious landmark for his franchise. When we talk about Rohit, his overall runs are 7161 runs in 241 games in his IPL career. Former RCB skipper, Virat Kohli sits at the top of the tree with 7162 runs scored by him for RCB.

Rohit Sharma has scored 313 runs in the 2023 Indian Premier League edition for Mumbai Indians

Rohit was not through with milestones, as he also passed 11000 runs in T20 cricket. He is the second Indian batter after Kohli to achieve this feat as well. Kohli has hit 11,864 runs in 373 games. Now, Rohit joins him in the elusive club. The MI skipper has not taken IPL 2023 by storm but MI will welcome his return back to form as the playoffs dawn upon Mumbai. Rohit became the seventh batter overall to achieve this record after the likes of Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard and David Warner.

In what has been a very lukewarm IPL for Rohit, he has just managed to score 313 runs in 14 matches. The right-hander has an average of 22.35 and a strike rate of 134,33. The 36-year-old has captained MI to five IPL titles. MI has been one of the most consistent sides in IPL history. If GT beat RCB, then they will make it to the playoffs for the 8th time.
