Young India spinner, Shreyanka Patil registered her name in history as she became the first Indian cricketer to be signed by a franchise in the women’s Caribbean Premium League (WCPL). She played for Guyana Amazon Warriors in WCPL 2023. In her recent interview with Sportstar, she opined that former India skipper, Virat Kohli is like God to her. She went on to say that his work ethics, passion, dedication, and commitment are unmatchable.
“Virat Kohli is God to me. His work ethics, passion, dedication, and commitment are unmatchable. I don’t have words to explain how I felt when I saw him for the first time. He spoke to us, and his words motivated the team to give its best in the inaugural edition,” Shreyanka was quoted as saying on Sportstar.“I was nervous on the auction day as several big names went unsold. However, I was over the moon when RCB lifted the paddle for me. It was a big opportunity to share the dressing room with Smriti Mandhana and Ellyse Perry,” she added.

Shreyanka recalled the time when she had a chance to meet the 34-year-old during the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023. “He took the phone and clicked a picture with me. I still want to say that he touched me here (on her arm). I went to the school and I was like, ‘Virat Kohli touched me’. It was so nice to meet him, to take a picture with him,” Patil was quoted as saying in RCB Bold Diaries.
“Though I didn’t get to meet him and talk to him in person, taking a picture with him itself is a big thing. I’m going to frame this picture, keep it in the house, protect it, and then when I meet him, I’m going to get his autograph done on that frame,” she stated.
