S Sreesanth claims Usain Bolt copied his celebration, demands Patent
Over the years cricket has seen many special celebration moves. From Imran Tahir’s run across the ground to Tabraiz Shamsi’s shoe celebration, the moves hold a special place in the hearts of the fans. If we talk about other sports, Usain Bolt’s iconic To Di World” celebration is one that is very popular.
In this celebration, Bolt points both his hands in the air. The celebration was first seen in the 2008 Olympics. As per Bolt, it is inspired a dance move from Dancehall. “It is called ‘To Di World’ and I feel I am connecting to the people of the world when I do it. I started doing it for fun, but people loved it so much they would be angry if I stopped,” Bolt had said.
However, former India pacer S Sreesanth has claimed that Bolt copied his celebration. Sreesanth shared a cut out of him doing a similar move in the 2007 20-20 World Cup. The image he shared was from the final of the mega event when Sreesanth took the catch of Misbah Ul Haq as India went on to win the inaugural season of the mega event.
“Now it’s very clear how Usain Bolt got the idea and followed it. I did it in 2007,” wrote Sreesanth.
Meanwhile, the pacer has registered himself for the upcoming Indian T20 League mega auction, slated to take place in Bengaluru on 12th and 13th February.
