SA vs IND: Jofra Archer’s old tweet goes viral after Virat Kohli misses another century
India and South Africa are currently involved in a series deciding Test in Cape Town. India won the toss and opted to bat first on a grassy wicket. However, the decision backfired as the team was bundled out for 223. Barring Virat Kohli, every other Indian batter danced to the tunes of Proteas bowlers. Kohli, however, looked a class apart and stroked a magnificent 79. He was looking all set to end his century drought and put his team in a commanding position.
Unfortunately, he nicked a delivery of the bowling of Kagiso Rabada to fall 21 short of the hundred. Seeing Kohli getting past the 50 run mark and getting out is strange given that the Indian skipper is known for his conversion rate. However, in the last two years, Kohli has failed to get past the three-digit score.
Meanwhile, as soon as Virat Kohli was dismissed, an old Tweet of Jofra Archer went viral on social media. For the unversed, time and time again, some old tweets of Jofra Archer keep on resurfacing on the internet. While they have no resemblance to the current situations, the Twitteratis somehow manage to find a link.
“Got to score a ton somehow,” read Archer’s historic Tweet.
Got to score a ton somehow 😐
— Jofra Archer (@JofraArcher) December 1, 2013
The Indian skipper last scored a century against Bangladesh in the Day-Night Test at Eden Gardens. Since then, he has seen a slight dip in form. However, he is still getting starts and scoring 50s and 60s but somehow has failed to break past the 100 run mark. He looked in great touch in the first inning and a century should not be too far away.
Meanwhile, Archer has been out of action since England’s tour of India last year due to an elbow injury. He has undergone a couple of surgeries and is currently recovering from the same.
