The 1st Test of the India vs England series at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad is currently dominated by the hosts where England were all out for 246 on the first day itself with the spin trio of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel being the kryptonite to the otherwise strong and fearless England batting lineup. The first day already saw the England bowlers face the wrath of Yashasavi Jaiswal in the first day where they were already under pressure against this deep and dangerous batting lineup.

The 2nd day is the same story for the England players once again where the Indians remain on top at 421-7 with a lead of 175 runs at the end of day 2. The England bowlers were really finding it difficult to come back in the game after partnerships were forming every time a wicket fell in the middle of the innings. With Axar Patel and Jadeja at the crease, there is still a chance to increase the lead even further going into the 3rd day of the Test match.

Jadeja and Rahu, the stars of the day

If it was Jaiswal in day 1 it was KL Rahul who took control of the innings scoring 86 from 123 deliveries that included 8 fours and 2 sixes. This was the innings that continued the dominance of the Indian innings in the match. The knock of Ravindra Jadeja was equally impressive in the match and he is currently unbeaten on 81 from 155 balls which consists of 7 fours and 2 sixes so far. These two innings are the reason the Indians are in a great position to win the game and take the lead in the 5 match Test series.

The story of Ben Stokes and his men is not looking good so far and the comeback chances for their team are looking really slim. There is no doubt that England have the ability to change the game with their batting, but with the pitch already offering a lot of grip and turn in the 2nd day itself, it looks like it is going the Indian way right now. It will be interesting to see how much can India increase this massive lead going into day 3. We might be looking at another one-sided contest, but the game of cricket can still have its unique twists and turns.
