The players who are getting central contracts for the 2024–2025 year have at last been disclosed by the Indian Cricket Board on Wednesday. Notably, the central contract has been given to a lot of players who have made a great contribution to the team in any form. However, several players were also removed from the list. However, the most prominent ones were Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan, who have had a challenging few months together as cricketers.

The Indian Cricket Board’s determination to reprimand players who refuse to put in the necessary time and effort in the game’s longest format is what led to the removal of the two young players. Notably, both star cricketers have not been seen playing the Ranji Trophy games for so long, and that’s what makes them off the contract list. Meanwhile, after the announcement of the list, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar also stated an aggressive message.

Sanjay Manjrekar took to social media and backed the decision of the Indian Cricket Board to award the players who truly deserve to be on the contract list after working extremely hard for their national side.

“Well done to @Board for rewarding players who want to play the tough cricket and only for one reason…to face the ‘acid test’ as cricketers,” Sanjay Manjrekar posted on X.

Here is the post of former India Cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar:
