‘Saving all his runs for T20 World Cup’: Twitter backs Virat Kohli as he bags third golden duck in Indian T20 League 2022

The 54th match of the Indian T20 League 2022 saw Bangalore take the field against Hyderabad. Notably, this was the second time the two teams met in the tournament.
Bangalore won the toss and decided to bat first in the match. Their innings was opened by their skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli. The fans were eagerly waiting for Kohli to regain his form and score big in this match. But, to the disappointment and surprise of all, he went back to the pavilion of the very first ball that he faced.
Williamson opted to open the left-arm spinner Jagadeesha Suchith. It was a clever move keeping in mind Virat’s weakness against the type of bowling. But no one expected that the star batter will lob a full-pitched delivery on the middle and leg stump to the short mid-wicket fielder of the very first ball.
Notably, this was Kohli’s third golden duck in the season. His previous one also came against Hyderabad in their earlier clash. With this duck, the miserable run continues for the star batter with the bat in hand. He has just scored 216 runs in the tournament at an average of 19.64 and a strike rate of 111.34.
As he started the walked back, the fans expressed their disappointment over his form. They soon took the social media in disbelief of what the most prolific run-scorer of the modern times is going through. While a section of the fans trolled the slump Kohli is going through others stood behind him and supported him.
