Currently, at the moment, England is locking horns with Australia in London for the 2023 edition of The Ashes. When the first Test between the two teams got underway on June 16 in Edgbaston,

Australia opener David Warner, and England seamer Stuart Broad were one of the biggest rivalries to keep an eye out for in the Ashes 2023. David Warner was a shell of himself in Ashes 2019 as he struggled to 95 runs in five Test matches, often losing to Stuart Broad or Jofra Archer. His average in England has been 26.04, which is below average.

He is coming off a poor performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series in India, where he scored 26 runs in two matches. In the WTC 2023 final, he scored 43 and 1 against India at the Oval.

When he evaded Anderson and Broad on day one of the first Test after England boldly declared for 393/8, much was expected of the veteran opener, who had stated that he wanted to play his final Test in front of his home crowd in Sydney next year.

Australia lose three big wickets on the first session of Day 2

On day two, Warner did his best to get, spending 26 balls to score nine runs, two of which were boundaries. However, on the 27th ball he faced, Stuart Broad’s delivery proved to be his undoing. Warner attempted to throw his hands at the full-length delivery, hoping to hit it through the covers, as it was bowled broad from around the wicket to the southpaw.

However, the ball took the inside edge of his bat and landed on the leg stump, igniting cheers from Broad and cursing from Warner. David Warner had been fired by Stuart Broad 15 times before. After Warner’s wicket, World No.1 Test batter, Marnus Labuschange on the very next ball. This was the first golden duck of his international career so far.

If we talk about the game, after the completion of first session on day two, the visitors are 78 runs for the loss of three wickets after the end of first session on day two. Opener, Usman Khawaja is playing on 40 runs with six fours and Travis Head is playing on eight runs which include two fours in his innings. For England, two wickets were snapped by Broad and one by their skipper Ben Stokes.
