Shocker for India as KL Rahul gets ruled out of 3rd Test match against England

KL Rahul has been ruled out of the 3rd Test match in Rajkot against England because of a knee injury. His exclusion is more like a big blow to India. He was only added to the squad for the final three Tests after receiving a fitness clearance. Moreover, Rahul had previously missed the second Test in Visakhapatnam because of a quadriceps injury.

Whether Ravindra Jadeja has fully recovered from the hamstring injury he sustained during the first Test in Hyderabad is still unknown. The third Test, which will be played on his home pitch, will feature Jadeja in the squad, but his participation is dependent upon receiving approval to play. With Virat Kohli missing for personal reasons, India already has a dearth of batting experience.

Moreover, Rahul’s absence increases the problem, as they did not select Shreyas Iyer for the final three Test matches. Thus, to have a strong middle order, the management will be hoping that Jadeja’s fitness is fine. Devdutt Padikkal replaces KL Rahul in the 3rd Test against England
