Showing affection in public, Alchohol – Qatar officials issue long list of prohibited items during FIFA World Cup 2022

Less than a week is left at the start of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. The first game will be played between the hosts and Ecuador on November 20. Meanwhile, ahead of the tournament, the fans might have gotten a ‘punch in the gut’ feeling. Apparently, the local officials have released a long list of bans for the fans.
The first of them is refraining from ‘public displays of affection, drunken behavior and dressing modestly’. Secondly, the fans have been asked to avoid carrying any pornography and sex toys, pork products, and religious books. Thirdly, they have been asked not to buy alcohol from duty-free shops as the import of alcohol is illegal. Apart from this, unprescribed drugs, if found, can be confiscated and the offender might be jailed.
Notably, the fans can only purchase beer from the designated zones otherwise they would have to pay a ‘sin tax’.
