Skyesports announced a unique BGMI Esports Event ‘Skyesports League’

Popular esports event organizer Skyesports has now introduced its newest esports IP for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). Known as Skyesports League, the tournament will feature teams representing every region of the country.

The tournament will be held as a LAN event in Mumbai. 16 teams representing various states will face each other in a battle for their state. The premise seems inspired by the Indian Premier League (IPL). Nevertheless, the concept seems fun.

“The Skyesports League will be a celebration of India’s diversity and will include a regional and localized flavour never seen before in Indian esports,” said Shiva Nandy, founder and CEO of Skyesports.

“As BGMI esports becomes a sport enjoyed across the country, it’s important to celebrate and leverage India’s cultural diversity, which we will be doing with the Skyesports League,” he further added.

Here are all the teams taking part in the Skyesports League:

Delhi Dragons

Kochi Kings
Kolkata Tridents
Lucknow Pushers

Rajasthan Strikers

Each team will be represented by a different esports organization. Team rosters are set to be revealed in the coming weeks through various social media channels. Match formats, are also yet to be revealed.

Speaking on team selection, Skyesports Head of Global Business Partnerships, Sashank Bhandari said, “While we received a huge number of applications to be a part of the Skyesports League, we have carefully shortlisted the best teams for the esports event.”

Enigma Gaming is currently the only team revealed for the Skyesports League after their win at the Pova Cup Season 4 BGMI by Skyesports.
