Former Indian Cricket Board and ex-Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly’s phone went missing from his home in Behala, Kolkata. The mobile phone cost around Rs. 1.6 lakhs.

This incident came to the limelight when Ganguly lodged a police complaint at Thakurpukur police station. He stated that his phone contained his personal information and bank details. He urged the authorities to take serious actions to avoid any misuse.

This incident took place when Sourav Ganguly was not at home. He stated that his phone was kept at a specific spot and had gone missing since then. During that time, there was Sourav Ganguly’s house was getting painted and renovated. The workers are now subjects 
Sourav Ganguly to enquiry that would be carried out by the police. He wrote a letter to the officer-in-charge of the Thakupukur police station about his mobile phone going missing from his house. He remembered that the last time he saw his device was at around 11:30 am, post that he could not find it even after searching multiple times.

Sourav Ganguly describes U19 World Cup as loss-making tournament

The loss of his phone has caused Ganguly a huge problem as it provided multiple access to accounts and the contents of the phone have very sensitive data. He also stated that his phone is linked to his bank account and has a lot of contact information of many important individual numbers saved.  He has also informed the police that his information should not be disclosed under any circumstances.

Sourav Ganguly is now working as Director of Cricket for Delhi Capitals. Ganguly and team management are closely looking at Rishabh Pant’s way to recovery. Since 2022, Rishabh Pant’s car accident he has been out of cricket action. Ahead of IPL 2024 he has a chance to make a comeback.

In an interview with RevSportz, Ganguly stated that the U-19 World Cup that is currently underway is a loss-making proposition. He said, “You can say it’s a loss-making tournament. Most World Cups not featuring the senior men’s teams are non-profit. That’s not the reason the U-19 World Cup hasn’t been played in India. And I think it’s going to be held in India,”
