Team Vitality launches new Starcraft 2 team
Team Vitality, which is one of the biggest French esports organizations, has now added Starcraft 2 esports to its portfolio. The team recently announced signing a new team for competitive Starcraft 2.
Players for the team are also not newbies in the scene. The org has signed South Korean team ONSYDE who will now be playing under Team Vitality. It contains some of the best Starcraft 2 players in the scene.
“Entering StarCraft II means associating Team Vitality with the history of global esports. It’s an iconic game that the entire esports ecosystem has grown up with,” Team Vitality said in its statement.
The roster contains
- Maru – Cho Seong-ju, is one of the most decorated players, boasting 8 different StarCraft II global championship wins.
- Solar – Kang Min-soo is the best-performing player in the starcraft community. He recently won the World Team League for Summer and Winter.
- Ryung – Kim Dong-won started his career back in 2010 with the release of Starcraft 2. He has been a big name since then. Even after a short hiatus, his skills are top-notch.
- CranK (Coach) – Choi Jae-won is an old veteran with a long list of achievements to his name. He will now be helping the new Team Vitality to go even beyond.
What is Starcraft?
Starcraft 2 is one of the most popular online Real-time Strategy (RTS) games. It was developed by Blizzard Entertainment and has taken off since launch, with millions of players still playing the game.
Like the Tekken community, they do not usually get the spotlight. However, a team like Vitality signing a dedicated roster shows the popularity of the game. Even if it is not as extensively covered compared to other games like League of Legends, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike.
