‘This IPL team directly approached our player’ – Gujarat Titans COO makes shocking revelation ahead of IPL 2024 Auction

IPL 2024 auction is around the corner and the teams are gearing up to make valuable additions to their squad ahead of the commencement of the 17th edition of the tournament. The retention window ended on 26 November as the teams retained and released the players in their squad.

The former finalist Gujarat Titans COO recently made shocking revelations as he informed the media that an IPL franchise has directly contacted their player Mohammed Shami instead of going through a proper approach to the team as laid down in the code of conduct by the Indian cricket board and the IPL.

Gujarat Titans COO, Colonel Arvinder Singh highlighted the misconduct by the other IPL franchise as they directly contacted Shami. He said,E very franchise has the right to go for top players. The wrong part is that if an IPL franchise directly approaches a player. The method is wrong and the GT team management is not happy with the approach.”

He further added, “The Indian Cricket Board’s rule regarding plalesssrade-odds, how the expression of interest can be made to BCCI and then they will inform us. Then the franchise decides. This IPL team approached our coaching staff which is wrong. If they wanted the transfer, they could have talked to us upfront. We got to know about the approach later on.”

The Gujarat Titans’ director of Cricket, Vikram Solanki recently talked about Hardik Pandya’s desire to go back to Mumbai and said,“As the first captain of Gujarat Titans, Hardik Pandya has helped the franchise deliver two fantastic seasons that resulted in winning one IPL championship and one appearance in the final. He has now expressed a desire to return to his original team Mumbai Indians. We respect his decision and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.”
